Capacity Project Presents Its Final Report Print

Planning, Developing and Supporting the Health Workforce: Results and Lessons Learned from the Capacity Project, 2004-2009 summarizes results and lessons learned from this five-year global project on human resources for health, along with first-person perspectives and photographs from the field.

The report focuses on results by each of the Project’s core technical areas—workforce planning and leadership, workforce development and workforce performance support systems—as well as its cross-cutting areas of knowledge management, gender, faith-based organizations and global partnerships.

The Project’s impact on family planning, reproductive health and HIV/AIDS programming is also highlighted. A section on looking ahead suggests areas that can serve as a focus for future analysis and action. The report is available in print and on the Project’s website.
