Learning for Performance Approach Evaluated in Rwanda Print

The Capacity Project worked with the Rwanda Ministry of Health to use the Learning for Performance approach in the development of the HIV/AIDS, family planning and gender components of the A1 (registered) pre-service curriculum for midwives and nurses.

The approach and related tools help connect learning to specific job responsibilities and competencies. Project staff have begun evaluating lessons learned in using Learning for Performance for the curriculum at the Kabgayi, Rwamagana, Byumba, Nyagatare and Kibungo Nursing and Midwifery Schools.

In March, Project staff pre-tested evaluation tools and draft instruments. Currently they are in the process of data collection; a report is scheduled for completion in June.
