Site Selected for New Resource Center in Southern Sudan Print

Capacity Project staff recently traveled to Wau, capital of the state of Western Bahr el-Ghazal in Southern Sudan, and selected a site for the new hospital-based resource center.

Located in the state hospital, the center will open in July and be staffed by local hospital personnel, with support from the Project's resource center manager at Juba Teaching Hospital. The Juba resource center manager will oversee set-up and training of staff in Wau. The new center will help reinforce the staff’s medical training, provide a means for continuing education and professional development and offer free, reliable Internet access.

Opened in May 2008, the Project-supported resource center in Juba provides hospital staff, medical students and Ministry of Health personnel with access to health information books, CDs and DVDs.
