Data Collection Completed for HRH Assessment in Vietnam Print

In order to strengthen HIV/AIDS services, the Vietnam Administration for HIV/AIDS Control (VAAC) was established in 2005, and subsequently formed Provincial HIV/AIDS Centers (PACs) to manage local-level concerns.

In April, the Capacity Project completed data collection for an assessment of human resources for health (HRH) needs among senior VAAC and PAC staff. A total of 80 senior HIV/AIDS managers participated in eight focus groups and 18 key informant interviews across central, provincial and district levels.

Managers responded to an open-ended question set designed using the HRH Action Framework. Draft results will be made available to VAAC in June, and will explore possible areas for improvement and suggest appropriate measurable indicators to help monitoring and evaluation of HRH.
