Capacity Project Strengthens Rapid Needs Assessment (RNA) in Caribbean Print

From January 28-30, staff members from the Capacity Project and the Caribbean HIV/AIDS Regional Training Network (CHART) participated in a planning meeting in Baltimore on RNA.

An interactive community-based tool, RNA provides immediate feedback to health worker teams and their supervisors to improve training related to HIV/AIDS services. Since 2007, the Capacity Project has partnered with CHART to execute 12 RNAs in the region, anticipating the use of the aggregated data in training strategies.

As part of the planning meeting, CHART’s monitoring and evaluation officer reviewed the full dataset resulting from RNAs conducted in Jamaica, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States and Bahamas in April-June 2008, and worked with the Project’s RNA team leader to determine improvements for data collection and analysis. CHART will plan and execute at least two more RNAs scheduled for May 2009.
