Workshop Supports Professional Development for Uganda’s Health Workforce Print

The Capacity Project supported a three-day workshop in June on continuing professional development (CPD) for the health workforce in Uganda.

Representatives from Uganda’s four health professional associations discussed standards for CPD and how to enforce the standards that cut across health professional groups.

The participants developed standards and criteria for accreditation of CPD centers, and for certification of CPD events as a basis for licensure renewal. These are being further refined into CPD guidelines for nation-wide implementation.
