On September 10, the Capacity Project/Rwanda marked the successful completion of Project activities with a closing ceremony in Kigali.
Bringing together key partners and stakeholders, the ceremony included presentations from the USAID mission director and representatives from the Ministry of Health and the districts and schools in which the Project worked. Staff exhibited products, curricula and reports developed and supplied by the Project over the past five years, and the Project’s Dr. William Twahirwa presented an assessment of achievements.
Domitilla Mukantabana, director of the Kabgayi Nursing and Midwifery School, testified to the success of the Project’s efforts to institute a competency-based format for the national A1 registered-level nursing and midwifery curricula and to bolster infrastructure and address staff development and strategic planning at the schools, adding that “the IntraHealth/Capacity Project staff’s expertise and devotion provided us with a unique and enriching experience.â€
