Since 2006, the Southern Africa Human Capacity Development (SAHCD) Coalition has made significant strides in assisting the Kingdom of Swaziland in reorganizing its Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (now the Ministry of Health).

On June 24, the SAHCD’s Dr. Kelello Lerotholi presented the reorganization recommendations to the Cabinet Subcommittee, which oversees the implementation of the revised organizational structure. The Subcommittee committed to working toward the formal adoption of the revised structure and its subsequent implementation, and presented the revised structure to the Cabinet. SAHCD is awaiting approval.

This revised structure will help the Ministry of Health become more effective and more responsive to its population’s health needs. The SAHCD will provide technical assistance and guidance to the Ministry throughout the implementation of the revised structure.
