From July 20-23 in Nairobi, the Capacity Project led the third and final workshop in the Kenya Human Resources for Health (HRH) Professional Development Program series.
Part of a six-month program that targeted 30 senior HR leaders and planners from across the Kenyan health sector, this workshop used the HRH Action Framework as an organizing principle. Sessions included the management of education and training to meet workforce needs, strategic communications, employee relations and strategies for addressing implementation challenges. Participants identified HRH issues and generated specific actions for going forward.
A formal evaluation is underway to document the program and identify lessons learned that can then guide similar programs beyond Kenya. Initial workshop evaluation questionnaires indicated that participants have expanded their HRH knowledge base and are inspired to tackle practical HRH challenges in the workplace.
