Nurses’ In-Service Training Strengthened in Swaziland |
The Southern Africa Human Capacity Development (SAHCD) Coalition works with Swaziland partners to streamline in-service training for nurses.
Building on the success of the Capacity Project’s work in Southern Africa, SAHCD provides technical assistance for strengthening human resources for health. At the request of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, SAHCD initiated this effort to streamline in-service training to avoid duplication of participants and training content, consolidate schedules to ensure the effective use of resources and structure training so that it does not interfere with service delivery.
Going forward, all in-country training partners will submit their training record plans to SAHCD so it can identify redundant areas and develop coordinated training plans. Additionally, SAHCD consulted with partners to develop a uniform national curriculum on HIV/AIDS training and the need to set and endorse Nursing Education and Nursing Practice Standards.
