In partnership with the Tanzanian Institute of Social Work, the American International Health Alliance and the Jane Addams College of Social Work, the Capacity Project’s Most Vulnerable Children (MVC) program in Tanzania conducted the first in a series of training events for paraprofessional social workers (PSW) and PSW supervisors.
In January in Dodoma, Project staff co-facilitated the training of 92 PSW and 26 supervisors from Chamwino District and Dodoma Municipal District. The training focused on skills needed to deliver foundational social welfare services, assess MVC needs, provide support and identify referral options.
Supervisors received an additional four-day training focused on leadership and supervisory skills. During the training, MVC program staff and partners built a repository of lessons learned and best practices in effective partnering to strengthen upcoming trainings.
