In Rwanda, the Capacity Project recently conducted a follow-up assessment on recent initiatives to increase male involvement in family planning and health care.
The assessment examines the extent of changes in client perceptions related to men’s responsibilities in family planning and activities such as voluntary counseling and testing and seeking and receiving antiretroviral therapy. The Capacity Project also investigated changes in the behavior and perceptions of health care providers regarding men’s participation in health programs at six Project-supported facilities.
Project staff have concluded data analysis activities and plan to complete the assessment report in March.
