Regional Family Planning Training Aids Midwifery Tutors |

|
The Capacity Project recently supported a follow-up evaluation assessing knowledge and skills retention of a group of midwifery tutors working in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
The 22 tutors had previously attended a family planning training workshop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania sponsored by the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community, with support from the Project and Africa’s Health in 2010.
The evaluation considered both quantitative and qualitative analyses, and results demonstrated that participants’ retention of the workshop information remained high three months after the workshop. Participants feel their work performance has been enhanced and they expressed significant satisfaction with the intervention.
