Over the last two years, the Capacity Project has provided targeted technical assistance to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of Global Fund grants in Kenya.

In July, Project consultants worked with members of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) and other stakeholders to review progress and develop a comprehensive plan for implementing grants and harmonizing reporting systems. In September, the Project conducted two workshops: one for the CCM Oversight Committee to develop agreements on reporting mechanisms; and one for a team of stakeholders to revise and validate the Operations Manual for grant management, which the Project helped to develop.

Upcoming activities include training for Global Fund district accountants in the use of the Operations Manual and reporting mechanisms and a stakeholder meeting to support Round 7 grant disbursement.
