In August, Capacity Project staff piloted an in-service training management module at the Zanzibar Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW).

The module integrates with Zanzibar’s customized iHRIS Manage software—the Project’s human resources information management system— installed last spring, and enables the HR department to schedule employees for trainings, evaluate their performance and track competencies and continuing education units earned in trainings.

The Project team developed the training module based on feature recommendations and instructions from key stakeholders. MOHSW staff and other stakeholders reviewed functionality and learned how to enter training information. Data for public health workers will be entered over the next few months. The module has been built into the core iHRIS software and is compatible with both iHRIS Manage and iHRIS Qualify, the Project’s training, certification and licensure information system.
