Local Advisor Hired to Support HRIS Strengthening in Namibia |

The Capacity Project/Namibia recently hired a local human resources information systems (HRIS) advisor, Laticha Walters, to work directly with stakeholders to ensure adherence to the Project-funded HRIS-strengthening activity plan.
She will be seated at the Ministry of Health and Social Services. In June, visiting Capacity Project staff trained Ms. Walters and introduced her to key HRIS stakeholders. She will immediately focus on several key aims: connecting the HR offices in three pilot regions to the central HRIS in the Office of the Prime Minister; coordinating with stakeholders to understand other systems in use and how they can also be linked; and communicating with the Professionals Council to raise interest in iHRIS Qualify—the Project’s licensing and certification software.
She will also assist with the core-funded pilot of iHRIS Plan—the Project’s workforce planning and modeling software based on Namibia’s current projection model—scheduled for August. Hiring and training a local advisor is expected to lead to increased progress with HRIS strengthening and greater capacity to sustain the system in Namibia.
