The HRH Action Framework (HAF)—developed in collaboration with the Global Health Workforce Alliance, WHO, USAID and other partners—represents general agreement among global and national stakeholders on a comprehensive approach to address health workforce issues, and provides a set of tools and resources to develop successful human resources for health (HRH) strategies.
To extend the reach of the HAF, the HAF website is now available in French and Spanish. The HAF diagram includes six action fields (HR Management Systems, Leadership, Partnership, Finance, Education and Policy) and four phases (Situational Analysis, Planning, Implementation and Monitoring & Evaluation). To ensure a comprehensive approach to an HRH challenge, users can visit all of the action fields and phases, or select based on areas of interest, and drill down to access relevant tools and guidelines, indicators and resources. The Capacity Project is currently piloting the application of the HAF in Uganda.
