Tanzania Faith-Based Health Network Improves HR Information Systems Print E-mail

For staff of the Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC) in Tanzania, the Capacity Project conducted two training sessions in the use of geographic information systems (GIS) for the management of health facilities and the health workforce.

Held in April, the sessions included such topics as applied data utilization, data collection, collaboration and data sharing. In a two-day training, four senior CSSC staff learned about using freely available software to use data for project management, policy analysis and monitoring and evaluation. Fourteen additional Zonal staff participated in a three-day training covering GIS data use and reviewing the status of ongoing routine data collection.

These sessions were part of an ongoing series of technical assistance to enhance the CSSC’s ability to collect and utilize information about human resources and health facilities that they manage.
