Working with the Tanzania Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW), the Capacity Project recently helped to organize and facilitate a three-day workshop that culminated in the finalization and adoption of a human resources for health (HRH) strategic plan.

The plan spans 2007-2012 and will assist the health sector in planning, development, management and utilization of human resources. With funding and technical support from the Project, 35 high-level stakeholders collaborated to strengthen content areas of the plan, realign and streamline strategic directions and objectives and realign the implementation plan in view of revised objectives.

They also reached agreement on priority activities to be accomplished over the next two years. Going forward, the Project will continue to support the MOHSW through the processes of costing, distributing, launching and implementing the plan.
