With Capacity Project support, the Uganda Ministry of Health conducted a Human Resources for Health (HRH) District Action Workshop on May 17-18 in Jinja, with 108 participants from 40 districts.
Participants prioritized four key HRH issues for analysis and development of action strategies at the district level: health worker recruitment and retention; training and capacity development; motivation; and staffing.
In addition, participants honed skills in the HRH planning process, discussed the national HRH policy and translated policies and strategies into district action plans.
