Building Health Workforce Leadership in Southern Sudan |
On February 9, the Capacity Project completed the first of three intensive leadership development programs designed to help health managers build the requisite management and leadership skills they will need to bring quality health services to the people of Southern Sudan. The 31 participants represented the national Ministry of Health (MOH), district ministries of health from six regions, Juba Teaching Hospital, the Sudan People’s Liberation Army HIV/AIDS Program and the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF).
Conducted in two three-day sessions, the programs use a methodology and process developed by Management Sciences for Health (MSH), a Capacity Project partner. The programs support the MOH’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen human resources for health and build capacity for decentralized leadership.
