Male Engagement in HIV Services Expanded in Namibia Print E-mail

During the last quarter in Namibia, the Capacity Project, through its local partner Lifeline/Childline, supported community mobilization activities to promote male engagement in HIV/AIDS services. In the northeast region Lifeline/Childline reached 303 men at various locations such as open markets, taxi ranks, churches and workplaces.

These concerted efforts resulted in a high turnout of men for voluntary counseling and testing in February—males outnumbered females for the first time at the health center. This activity contributes to the Capacity Project’s goal to increase access to HIV counseling and testing for underserved populations in Namibia.
