Human Resources for Health (HRH) Action Workshops

September 23-28, 2007, Accra, Ghana; and January 17-20, 2006, Johannesburg, South Africa. Participants expanded the HRH knowledge base, engaged in south-to-south dialogue around HRH issues and solutions and generated country-level strategies for implementation.

HRH Workforce Planning Model Workshop

December 13-14, 2007, Washington, DC. The Capacity Project brought 24 global leaders in health workforce planning together to collaborate on the design of user-friendly software for workforce planning. Participants came from USAID, WHO, World Bank, Asia-Pacific Action Alliance, Pan American Health Organization, Global Health Workforce Alliance, Africa Health Workforce Observatory, universities and ministries of health and labor. Meeting of the Africa Health Workforce Observatory

September 26-29, 2006, Arusha, Tanzania. This report includes summaries of presentations and discussions from the initial meeting of the AHWO, co-sponsored by the Capacity Project, ECSA Health Community, World Health Organization and World Bank. The AHWO is a collaborative network created to share information, form partnerships and promote human resources for health (HRH) policy development in Africa.

Planning, Developing and Supporting the Faith-Based Health Workforce: African Church Health Associations' Human Resources for Health Mini-Forum

February 27-March 1, 2006, Nairobi, Kenya. Participants from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia attended this mini-forum. The workshop brief provides background and description, reviews topics and describes initial outcomes.

Beyond the Visiting Supervisor: What Works? What's Next?

October 25, 2005, Washington, DC. A workshop CD documenting presentations and highlights from discussions. The Capacity Project sponsored this interactive workshop to consider fresh perspectives on supportive supervision.
